Literature-Searching Strategies of Integrative Research ReviewersA First SurveyUniversity of Missouri-Columbia A survey was conducted of 57 authors of recently published integrative research reviews in psychology and education. The survey concerned (a) the authors' background, (b) literature coverage goals, (c) literature searching strategies, and (d) citation practices. Three types of search strategies were uncovered: bibliographic, manual, and personal contact. Author expertise, search strategies, citation practices, and the publication outlet of the review were found to be interrelated. Implications for future reviewing practices are discussed.
